I have used Slade & Co for a couple of years now. In 2023 I learned that my 2022 taxes was not filed. I contacted them, and to be fair, they handled it promptly. Now, I have learned that they filed my 2022 taxes completely wrong. I have been trying to contact both Will and Victoria Joyce for a month now, with no response on how to resolve this. Emails, phone calls and voicemails go completely ignored. After reading some reviews, I can see that I am not the only customer to be ignored. Now with no response I am left to clean up the mess with no direction on how to do so, besides trying to find a more helpful CPA.

Don't recommend them at all, unless you want the Franchise Tax Board and IRS to find Slades mistakes, costing you more money! We were referred to them, and had an appointment. 10 minutes into my scheduled appointment, the receptionist interrupts to advise his next apointment arrived. (Appointments are supppose to be 30 minutes!) Then 10 more minutes, she agains disrupts to remind of another appointment. I leave my documents for them to analyze. Weeks later, the old receptionist calls to advise our taxes done and gives a 9am appointment. We arrive early and wait for them to open. The old receptionist then tells us, we got appointment wrong and didn't have any appointment. SHE got it wrong, not us. We leave without any discussion of our taxes.
Weeks later, we get letter from IRS advising we owe $3,500+ more tax. I forward to Slade & Company, who admit they made a "mistake" in our taxes. We pay the IRS. Weeks after that, we get another letter, from Franchise Tax Board, stating we owe $1,300+ more to the State! I forward letter to Slade, asking how this occured (again)! I clearly state this is time sensitive. 12 days pass and they do not respond. I call, the day before money is due to FTB, only to have "Eric" talk down to me, asking if I understood the letter. He just paraphrased the letter, and then tells me I MADE THE MISTAKE in the documents I provided. He doesn't tell me where the mistake is, just that I was responsible for it! I told him that it took me 5 minutes to find their mistake, after I first received the FTB letter. He doesn't offer any explanation himself, but asks, "where I think the mistake was made". I ask why he can't find it, since we paid them to prepare our taxes! I hang up without any explanation from him.
We've had CPA's do our taxes for 40 years and never had any problems or mistakes! Until now.
DON'T USE SLADE, UNLESS YOU WANT THE IRS OR FTB TO FIND MISTAKES IN YOUR TAXES! Then, be prepared to pay THOUSANDS MORE! Obviously, we will never use them again, and will share our bad experience with everyone.

The Slade Company has been great to me. Silvana has given me excellent service numerous times.
She has gone out of her way to help me. She does not just do a great job with my taxes. She has really helped me with my life plans.
