Since it's so hard to get ahold of who's in charge of this place I've decided to write a review.
Worst experience ever.
When I first moved in there was a half done patch job in the hallway that came undone the first day we moved in and by the third day my dog just removed it and started playing with it. I took pictures and showed it to Cheri Kessler and asked when could it be fixed and how much would it cost because I didn't know how long I'll be there and didn't want a patch missing from infant of the bedroom door. She said someone would come look at it but it never happened.
During the winter months the heat didn't work. Constantly at the front office stating how my daughter and I are freezing and nothing was ever done even when told it was "fixed" my house was still cold. When the summer started I asked Cheri are they going to work on the heat because I don't want my child and I to freeze this up coming winter and her response was it's hot and they're not going to work on the furnace right now.
The weather is warming up and I wanted to use the water hose in the front yard but when the water was turned on it flooded the front two rooms. Was told it was fixed but it got cold again for about a month and once summer was officially here I went to use the water hose again and the valve was closed. Never fixed once again I brought it up and no one came to fix it.
Summer is here and it's hot I'm back in the office to let Cheri know that the Swamp cooler isn't working. She's asking me did I do the basic troubleshooting my response was yes and I've had a neighbor come over and look, it's not working. The whole month a May and part of June nothing.
At this point I'm extremely upset. Two days before my week vacation mid June the Swamp cooler starts working. The day I leave for my vacation I turn in my 30 day notice stating I'll be out by 18 July. Cheri asked why and I list the long list of things and said I would be out by the first but the lease states a 30 day notice needs to be given. She says okay. Somewhere in between we talked about how the Swamp cooler is working and Cheri said it was sediment in the line and sometimes that happens.
I get back from my vacation the Swamp cooler wasn't working for the duration of my stay. I moved out July 5th 2024 and I had to leave the keys in the drop box because everytime I came by the office was locked and when I knocked no one was there.
The last week of July Cheri calls me and asks for the rent. I asked how much would it be no one was there when I was trying to pay and turn in the keys. She stated I still had to pay for the whole month. I asked why and no reason was given.
When it came time for the deposit to be returned she still took the whole months rent out of the deposit along with charging me for the whole month for the propane and water along with the lights. The light company I called and told them I had given my 30 day notice and I would be out by the 18th of July. It's been over a month and I'm still waiting on my deposit back from them because they said Cheri told them to charge the unit for the whole month and the only reason I know this is because I seen the deposit decrease so I called to find out why.
What I'm not understanding is how I can't get ahold of anyone in charge of her and how is it legal to charge me for the whole month when a 30 day notice was given and no where in the lease states if you move out mid month you'll be charged the months rent.
I firmly believe it's a racist thing. People are living in other homes not on the lease, animals that are not allowed on the property reside there, the policy is that the animals must be spayed or neutered and there are animals living there that aren't and there's residents months behind on rent that Cheri is "working with".
Overall, the treatment here was very poor and I know other black previous tenants with a not so pleasant experience as well they just don't care enough to say something and I may not get my money back but my story will be heard.
