Our experience with Seibert, Baxter, Cooney & Company PC, specifically with Barry Cooney, was disappointing and led to significant financial consequences for our business. We provided all required documents for our 2022 Company Tax Return on October 9, 2023, just before the October 15 deadline. Despite assurances that our taxes would be filed on time, we were informed in December that they had been submitted, only to find out later that they were not actually filed until February 28, 2024. This delay resulted in IRS penalties and interest totaling over $2,200, causing considerable financial harm.

Attempts to communicate with Mr. Cooney for timely updates went unanswered on multiple occasions, adding to our frustration and stress. We have since formally requested reimbursement for the penalties incurred due to this negligence and are awaiting a response from Seibert, Baxter, Cooney & Company PC.

If you are considering this firm for tax services, I would advise careful consideration of their communication practices and accountability. We expected professionalism and timely service, especially given the critical nature of tax deadlines, and unfortunately, our experience did not meet these standards.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Never have we ever dealt with a tax company like this before. Anytime we would call to ask a question or try and talk to someone either no one answered or they would "Leave a message with the CPA" and they would never return your call. We have always been very good about turning in our tax documents at the end of January or beginning of February and have always gotten them back by April at the latest. This past year Siebert Baxter & Co not only never returned our phone calls but they didn't even start on our taxes until May. Fast forward to October when we received a letter in the mail stating we underpaid on our State taxes. We called the CPA which to no avail ended in no one answering. I went up to the office multiple times and showed them the letter. Told me he'd look into it and get it taken care of blah blah blah. Again called multiple times to check on progress, never answered. December received another letter stating it was final notice on underpaid taxes. So obviously Siebert Baxter & Co did nothing to look into the issue. Save yourself the trouble and do not use this company.
