At first it seemed like the team had good intentions, trying to be kind and personal, but after reviewing our policy documents it was clear this was not the right financial decision for us. They work hard to gain your trust, so I was only suspicious when it was almost too late. General word of advice, you should be extremely cautious of any financial advisor, ESPECIALLY if you are young and claim to not know much about finances. The industry will prey on you.

We were recommended to invest our money in cash value life insurance. After speaking with close family, friends, and reviewing plenty of research on the internet, this is a terrible financial decision! You are way better off just having a brokerage account so you can actually access your money. This money wouldn’t be liquid for a certain period of time and the fees were extremely high, about 25%. I couldn’t believe it.

We were told to sign the policy based on verbal confirmation, which clearly gave us false expectations. We were also instructed to pay our first premium without reading the 100+ page policy. We were coerced into doing this policy based solely on trust. We only saw the policy on our app once we paid the premium.

Luckily, I did more research and we were still in the review period (10-30 days varying by state) and were able to cancel and request our premium back.

I post this review to encourage everyone to advocate for their own financial well-being and if something doesn’t seem right, trust your gut. It probably isn’t.
