I've used Mr. Ryser's services many times for servicing or repair of valuable watches. He is one of the old guard Swiss watchmakers who knows his trade in and out. He offers realistic feedback on what he's willing and able to do and he doesn't BS like some other companies who promise can-dos but fall short because they aren't craftsman by trade. Highly recommend!!

Urs Ryser is a true craftsman with a strong streak of perfectionism, and his customers benefit from that perfectionism. I've brought my Rolex to him four times over the past dozen or so years. Each time, he does the usual scheduled maintenance, and somehow, also manages each time to calibrate it to less than two minutes per month of accuracy. If you know Rolex watches, you know that's impressive. So I've recommended him to friends and family and they've also had extremely favorable results. He's also very honest about what he can and cannot do which I appreciate. In fact, I asked him about Anita Belofsky's one-star review and he explained that he wouldn't have been able to get the parts needed to fix her discontinued clock because they were no longer available, and obviously, he doesn't have electroplating capabilities, but then, what watch repair facility does? Blaming Urs for not being able to do what she wanted is truly an example of shooting the messenger and it completely misrepresents the fantastic job Urs does at servicing and repairing precision mechanical watches.

This guy does not really do everything he advertises, which is restoration and repair of (antique) clocks. I brought in an old Imhof clock purchased in Switzerland (where he's from, right?) that lost a knob on the back and whose gold plating was significantly rubbed off from more than 50 years of ownership. I wanted him to find a replacement knob and restore the look of the clock, but he was very standoffish and not at all interested in helping me or in the clock itself, which is handsome. He was very pessimistic in answering my questions. I was very disappointed and surprised at his lack of a can-do attitude. He is engaging in false advertising and I would not go back to him again.
