Steve Szabatura has been my tax preparer for over 20 years. He is extremely knowledgeable and always professional. His fees are in line with other CPAs in Southern California. If you are an educator, he knows about all of the tax deductions you can take as a teacher or school administrator. If I forget something, he will remind me of deductions or paperwork from previous years. He has especially been helpful with filing a tax return for my father's estate. I am confident in giving him my highest recommendation.

A little background info: my family runs a small farm in colorado, and we have a very limited amount of time to accomplish projects (building housing for animals, greenhouses, fixing implements, etc.) as we have seasons to consider (winter typically starts in October where we are). There is a small window of time to get our large projects finished so that we can focus on the crops during our short summer. It took almost 5 months for this firm to get our taxes done even though we got them in early, in hopes that we'd have our refund in time to start on a few projects that we had planned. We had to call the office once a week to see if there was progress (they never had an answer), they'd say they would call us back and never would. I would expect that a firm that charges an absolutely EXORBITANT rate to be a bit more responsive, but the onus was apparently on us to constantly badger them to do their jobs, and always to no avail. So since we didn't get our refund in a timely manner, we have had to put off our projects. But rest assured they were more than speedy in sending us our outrageous bill! By the way, our refund wasn't even worth the wait, and it pretty much all went back to these guys! Needless to say, we won't be calling on their "services" again, and our friends who recommended this firm won't either, as they had the same experience we did.
