Know that you are a fictional entity and a living person. This collection company bought the debt meaning they own it no longer does the original creditor own it. Make them validate the debt by sending them a letter certified mail and file a complaint with cfpb the ftc and the California secretary of state. Do not communicate with them on the phone even affirming your name enters you into contract... not you per se but your fictional identity. They have no permissible use to report to credit bureaus either if you don't contract with them. Learn consumer law and consumer rights. They are like the police anything you say can and will be used against you.
