This place is a joke! Unprofessional especially the case worker. She doesn't know how to communicate and there is no integrity in their work ethic. I'm glad I have found a better job. A place where people do communicate with each other, respect and don't judge others or accuse them falsely.

Do yourself a favor and don't entertain with these people. The only professional person in this place was the security guard at the front.

I'm going to agree with others....This place is a joke. I was told a social worker would call me. Instead they went to my mother's home without ever speaking to me and had a good ol' time socializing with the people involved. The conversation seemed to be all about me. No confidentiality at all. There appears to be no training in identifying elder abuse. Jose actually made the situation much worse, and my mother continues to be in an unsafe situation. I would not recommend thinking that this place will help.

I get a call from the hospital that my mom was admitted into by a doctor saying I said I didn't want my mom to come back home to live with. I don't know what lies some of the workers spew, I can guarantee very well I never said. For a place that's supposed to help, some of your staff makes up lies. It's sick.

Just called to try to report an old man who I believe needs help and was basically told to help him myself. Hire people that give a darn or just close your doors. Apparently you can’t report a problem with someone who you don’t know personally. I know where this gentleman is and I know he needs help from professionals but because I don’t have any info past that he’s just outa luck? How hard is it to send someone for a wellness check? I’m How hard would it be for you to send someone to the address I gave to make sure he’s ok? Absolutely trash from my experience and sadly your all that’s available for poor people.

We are two disabled seniors who have both worked since we were 16 years old. My husband had a Stroke after Spinal Fusion Surgery. He is now partially paralyzed and brain damaged. We were not asking for money, we just needed help in giving us direction on who to call in helping fill out paperwork, helping us find some help in regards to our house in foreclosure, plus I can no longer help my husband by myself. I am also taking care of our paralyzed dog. The one person from Adult Services told me we should get a divorce, so we could get more help and they also said that our house is clean and we do not need help. They have no concept about brain damaged people. My husband can be somewhat calm, but then he goes into a major depression, which causes him to yell, scream etc. Their only concern was to put him away for domestic abuse, when the only person who is getting abused is us. They are condescending when they speak to you and I try to explain we cannot afford food or our house, car payment etc., because Social Security was taking $158 a month out of my husband's check for Medicare Part B, when they were not suppose to and because my husband has a hard time breathing, my Doctor recommended Medical Baseline so SCE can not turn off your power. She was misinformed, they can turn off the power, plus my husband lived with his Mother in 1996 so he could take care of her and I moved in 1998 and SCE had the bill coming to each one of us. I took over payment when I moved in. When she died in 2009, I called to let them know, so we would not have a bill going to her, my husband and myself. When I applied for Medical Baseline the first time, we were denied, because it was 2015 and they still had her name on the bill, so they could not give us the Medical Baseline. I called SCE and they gave us Medical Baseline, which is a waste of time, since you have to have a breathing machine, that we have been trying to get for my husband. Not only was that a waste, they said our account is new now, so we had to pay $250 deposit. Needless to say our power was shutoff, because we could not come up with the deposit money and our $238 bill turned to $1700 overnight and they still keep saying it is carried over from our old account. They are not understanding, it was always just one account. Now they are making us pay $300 a month, so we can pay off the $1700 we do not owe and pay our regular bill. I have tried three Mobility Exams to get a wheelchair for my husband, but none of the Doctor's know how to fill out the paperwork and his Neurologist handed him a regular prescription for a wheelchair and a claw cane. He's partially paralyzed, so how is he going to use a cane, plus Medicare only pays for one or the other. We had to purchase a Forearm crutch for him, since know one knows how to fill out the forms properly. This is just some of the help we need. Only my husband gets $16 in food aid a month, but that is all. We even lost that a few times, because we needed help with the documents. I got a call from Claudia or Claudette this morning and she leaves a message and she will say her name really fast, so you cannot understand her. I am hard of hearing already, so if you do not at least speak clearly, then I cannot hear what people say. I sent a email to a person who has been helpful in the past, but instead this snotty, condescending person called. I tried to tell her our house went into Auction yesterday, so brilliantly she replied "why can't you just move"? Really? If we cannot afford, food, utilities, mortgage, car payment etc., then how are we suppose to come up with a first month, last month and security. Plus, our credit is now bad and if we could have afforded our mortgage, which is so much lest than renting. Not only do we have a paralyzed dog, but we also have two small rescue dogs and that is another reason we most likely would not be able to get into a rented, besides the high cost of moving, rentals, and all the other fees. These people have no sense of what goes on in the real world and they do not care.

It was a fortuitous day indeed when I first learned of KCAAS, and they've been sanity-if-not life-savers ever since. Whenever I've been beset with the competing rules and requirements of indecipherable state and federal bureaucracies, they've been able to sort it all out and set me on the right path to resolving my problem. Deeply grateful for this exceptional county service and the lovely people who staff it. Thanks, LeAnne!
