I decided to use Hudson Valley Tax Experts for my income taxes this year.

The first return I had done was our personal return and it was completed on time but did cost a little bit more than I thought it should.
This wasn't a big issue so I decided to let them handle my corporate return.

I dropped off a paper copy of my previous years corporate taxes along with a flash drive with my quick books file on it. I dropped this off a full 30 days before my taxes were due. A couple of weeks went by and I did not hear anything back about my taxes. The person I was assigned to basically seemed to fall off the face of the Earth and was not able to be contacted. One week before my taxes were due I had to find someone else to do the job as I was unable to contact anyone at this company.

Finally I made contact with the company and demanded that they return my property that I had dropped off over a month ago. A gentleman from the company contacted me via email. Basically it was a very snotty letter stating that I had not paid my bill from the first time they did my taxes and then proceeded with a lecture about how I should tend to my obligations. They told me they would mail the paper copy back to me but they had no flash drive. I immediately sent them a copy of my canceled check for my personal taxes to prove that I do live up to my obligations. However, now there is a flash drive floating around somewhere with my personal information on it and I have no idea who has it or where it is.

Is it really too much to ask that people keep you informed as to what they are doing with your taxes? Also I resent the fact that this gentleman contacted me making false accusations about my character and that I don't pay my bills. This was a big assumption on his part and had he done his due diligence and checked the records he would have seen that they were paid ON TIME. I realize things happen and I have no idea what happened in this case but the least they could have done was returned my phone calls and emails to let me know that they could not do the work. Had they done that I would not have a problem with this company as I just would have gotten someone else to do the work. But to just ignore me and not show up for scheduled appointments is unacceptable. To date I have not received an explanation as to why my taxes were not done and who has my flash drive.

I'm not sure that I understand your reply. I never made any estimated payments and if I did they would have been under my EIN and not my SSN. I never received any email from you requesting authorization to resolve any issues. In fact I was not aware that any work at all was done on my corporate taxes. So I'm not quite sure what return you are referring to, or perhaps maybe you are confusing me with someone else?
