My insurance company denied a claim and we got a big bill in the mail that we couldn’t pay. Luckily our case was handed to Sharon Jackson who helped us solve everything in under 10 mins! No bill and great service from this company!! If I ever get a collection bill again, (pray I don’t) I hope i get assigned to Sharon Jackson! ?

Sadly, I had two medical bills with this company for about 7 years (so unexpectedly)! However, I was lucky enough to have Sharon Jackson as my debt collector. I know. It's weird to say you had a good experience. Through my ups and downs that I had with my life, she continued to work with me, asking me what is it that I can pay and helping me through it all. I am so grateful that she was always kind and just help me get rid of the two bills I have.

All and all, if you have her as your debt collector, you are in good hands. Always remember, if you're kind to others they will be kind to you.

Thanks Sharon!

I gave this company a call after seeing a derogatory mark on my credit. After speaking to a representative, I realized that I had 2 outstanding medical bills that I never paid during a time that I did not have health insurance. I spoke with a kind representative by the name of Tony who was very helpful and understanding. I owed the total amount of $3,200.72 which Tony was kind enough to reduce to $1,917. I happily settled for this amount and paid it in full once the funds became available.
I know debt collection agencies get a bad rep, but I am greatly appreciative for this one.

Signed,
One happy customer.

I contacted Grant & Weber because I had an item on my credit report that I did not recognize. The young lady that answered was nice and friendly and helped me find an account number as Credit Karma did not list the acct. number. She then transferred me to Eric Hart, whom I asked to help me identify what this was about. He looked it up and explained that it was a medical debt for services not covered by my insurance 6 years ago. I now live in another state and moved away from the state in which the services were rendered very shortly afterward, and never received their correspondence, which he confirmed by stating "that explains the returned letters". I asked what my options were, and we discussed repaying in 3 installments to pay it in full and remove it from my credit report. I then asked if he could put the agreement in writing, to which he replied (paraphrasing) "no, we do not put payment arrangements in writing, but I can send you a deletion letter once you have paid off the full balance'. I asked that he see things from my perspective, where I would have no proof that we had that conversation, and that Grant & Weber agreed to anything. He then became extremely rude and started to make statements in a sarcastic tone like "it's a bill you owe and I shouldn't have to ask you to pay it!". I replied that first of all I was unaware that the debt existed as I moved out of state, and again, he confirmed that their letters were returned.I also stated that once he identified what it was to me, I did not deny that it was my debt and "I" was attempting to resolve it with him, "I' called G&W, and not the other way around. And he replied with "you're only calling because you want to get this off of your credit report" to which I replied yes, as would anyone" he then said "not because you pay your bills" to which I replied that I didn't know that it existed before today, again as he established by stating that their letters to me were returned. He went on being rude and raising his voice saying things like "that's what they all say" to my replies, and "You only called because you want something". I don't know about other collection agencies, but if someone is reaching out to you, trying to identify the issue, then trying to resolve it once identified, one would think that you'd do everything that you can to secure payment rather than be rude, insulting, and the person that reached out to you in the first place that was trying to resolve the matter and start making payments on the debt, disconnect the call due to your horrible attitude, demeaning comments, and refusal to work with me just for asking for G&W to put something in writing to me for my files, to prove that we had the conversation and came to a repayment agreement. I immediately went to their website, made the payment that we discussed as intended, and will continue to make said payments until paid in full. However, I will NEVER call their office again. If that's the caliber of employees that you have Grant & Weber, I wonder how you recover anything at all, or establish new clients to use your services. I hope that any prospective clients read this to see what they will be buying into.

I'm writing this review not only to share my experience, but to protect consumers.

I saw debt on my credit report, so I did A LOT of research (which I recommend you do BEFORE speaking with them). They record every single thing you say, so I DID NOT admit to any debt whatsoever over the phone or in writing until they sent me documentation that PROVED that the debt was mine.

First, I sent a Request for Account Validation letter (I found samples on the internet) in writing and sent it using Certified Mail. I received valid proof and documentation along with MY RIGHTS AS A CONSUMER, and then and only then did I pursue speaking to a debt collector.

If you plan on paying off your debt, then arrange to Pay in Full or do payments (I recommend paying in full to avoid dealing with them). Very important - I LOW BALLED them, and I recommend doing the same. If you owe 100 dollars and you offer 50, they are likely to charge you 85. However, if you owe 100 and you offer $15, they are more likely to charge you 45. They will ALWAYS make you pay between 30-40% more on the debt than what you offered. Their debt collectors work off of commission, and they do depend on the commission they earn from you, so do not allow them to intimidate or bully you into paying an unreasonable amount or on an unreasonable timeline. Simply hang up the phone, call the agency back, and ask to speak to a different debt collector who may charge you a lower amount or give you a more reasonable timeline.

LIES Grant and Weber will tell you:

"Paying off your debt will improve your credit"
"We don't buy debt"
"I'm not sure" - in response to you catching them in their lies.

What I learned is that unless your debt collector offers you a "Pay For Delete" (RESEARCH THIS) they CANNOT and WILL NOT do anything to improve your credit score. If they tell you that paying of your debts will improve your credit, then they should have no problem offering you a PAY FOR DELETE. If they tell you that they wont give you a Pay for Delete, then respectfully inform them that you are onto them. They will say ANYTHING to get you to pay, and they will use any method they can, often in the form of lies, so be very suspicious and read between the lines like I did with everything they say.

I made sure that I received documentation stating the settled amount BEFORE I paid off my accounts, and if they offer a Pay for Delete upon request (which isn't likely) then tell them they have to send you a document stating a Pay for Delete BEFORE you pay ANYTHING.

Lastly, I researched ways to send money to them. I recommend paying in full and going into your bank branch to wire the money to them so that you have documentation and proof from the bank that you wired the money.

Lastly, and the most crucial and important step, is to immediately follow up and VERIFY that they received the funds, and tell them that you want them to fax or email you in writing PROOF that they received the funds immediately on the same day. This will cover your behind if they ever try to come back in the future and claim that you did not pay your debt. DO NOT let them make you feel like a fool or unusual for asking for verification that they received the money, as they tried to with me, because this really is the most important step.

Good luck.

This is our experience with this horrible company. my fiancé owes a debt to his bank . FROM 4 YEARS AGO. NO ONE CONTACTED HIM. To get this off of his credit report he contacted the bank last week who gave him the info that Grant and Weber is in charge of the collection. He contacted Grant and Weber last week and offered to settle for 30% of the amount he owes. They accepted ! He was instructed to call back this week to get a letter of agreement on the 30%. When he called back he was met with rudeness, disrespect, interruptive conversation, and was even called a liar by them. They stated that 30% is not possible, and even tried to get my fiancé to tell them how much his other debts are . They are now refusing to accept the prior verbal agreement and are demanding payment in full. We are NEVER contacting Grant and Weber again.

This company is fraudulent. They say you owe money and when you try to get info or communicate with them they run you in circles! You explain your side and they just keep telling you you owe money. Mr. Diaz repeatedly yelled and and told to pay my bill while he though it was funny! I told him I had paid the bills to the hospital and he just keep saying maybe you should pay your bills when I asked to talk to the supervisor he just keep yelling over me taking bs. I told him just transfer and stop your rudeness he keep going and going he finally hung up on me and said nope you can call back. Horrible! Tony Diaz is scum and should be fired. Very unprofessional and doesn’t know how to handle his temper if your that moody you shouldn’t be in customer service. If a bill is paid to the hospital you provide proof and they can’t even call the hospital to verify they ARE NOT doing their job. It should be taken off you credit because it’s paid!!! They just want to collect money that has already been a paid.

I keep paying off this hospital bill they say I owe and instead of my balance going down it's just constantly going up every month.

Update:
Finally got them off my credit after almost 7 years . Feels amazing to have my credit go back up.
