My experience with this company was deeply disappointing and distressing. It operates with a money hungry mindset, prioritizing billable hours over honesty and employee well being. While they market themselves as a resource for helping business owners save money, road map to success and financial freedom, the reality is quite different.

I joined this firm with the hope of advancing my career, but I quickly found myself overwhelmed and unsupported. I endured six months of trauma after being let go without cause. The lack of training and broken promises were evident, as the three individuals assigned to support me were too focused on their own billable hours to provide the assistance I needed. The only person who treated me with dignity and offered genuine support was Maria. Unfortunately, the head CPA, Julia, manipulated the situation and influenced others against me, which ultimately led to my dismissal.

The termination process was particularly humiliating; I was insulted and advised to consider a career in social work instead of being encouraged in my aspirations. I had been transparent about my limited background in accounting upon hire, but I possessed extensive knowledge of taxes and tax law that is raw and need practice. Despite this, I was tasked with preparing 1099s, a job outside my expertise, without the necessary corrections being made due to the team’s focus on financial accounting.

I was promised training, yet all I received was a checklist to follow, rather than the hands on experience I needed to learn effectively. I was committed to the company, taking no lunch breaks during my time of employment to show my dedication. However, it was clear that the firm prioritized numbers and egos over the well being of its employees, particularly Julia, who treated me dismissively from the beginning.

Despite her hostility, I focused on my work and enrolled in accounting classes to meet the firm’s expectations. It was disheartening to be subjected to bullying from associates “JULIA and Veena her yes partner “and to face insults during my termination. The impact of this experience was significant; I suffered emotionally and financially, struggling to support my child as a single mother during a six month period without a caretaker.

In retrospect, I am grateful for this experience, as it ultimately led me to my current position as an IRS TAX practitioner. I realized my worth and capabilities, which this firm failed to recognize. Garry Jones, your leadership allowed for a toxic environment that mistreated dedicated employees. The trauma and disrespect I faced have made me stronger, and I now know that I am enough and capable of succeeding elsewhere. Your firm lost a committed employee, not the other way around.
