While I've been with Fidelity for many years, this was my first time visiting the SB branch. If you can, request Oscar Murillo! He's incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and explains financial concepts in simple, easy-to-understand terms. He helped me fine-tune my account and made the whole experience terrific.

In 2021 Fidelity issued a tax form indicating I had taken a disbursement when in fact it was a rollover leaving me liable for a tax bill. The Santa Barbara office who was so eager to have me move my accounts there would not get involved. They kept referring me to the "back office people" who said the could not make a correction. The financial consultant managing my account was no help. I moved my money out of fidelity right away after this.
I would recommend staying away from Fidelity and, in particular, this office.

I am a longtime Fidelity customer who has always found Fidelity staff (particularly in their offices in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD) to be highly professional and responsive.

As a recent transplant to Santa Barbara, I am appalled by how the SB Fidelity office has handled a simple matter of transmitting a document with a medallion signature guarantee to the central Fidelity offices for processing. I placed the document in the secure box in the SB Fidelity lobby to avoid delay and recent problems with the USPS.This process typically takes a few days but it is now been over a month.

I still have not received any explanation of the status of my document or how/why it was delay. Very disappointing.

Fidelity is the flagship company of the retirement fund management world. They are very comprehensive in their services and quite cost effective. They have thousands of employees across America, and as can be expected, some of them are wonderful and some are merely competent.
One of the attractive features of Fidelity is that their advisors are not paid by commissions on your trades (unlike at such other companies as Ameritrade or Ameriprise). This means that even if they have wealthy clients, they are unlikely to get wealthy in these jobs, so some of the best eventually move out in order to make more money. It also means that you occasionally get transferred to a new advisor.
I have been a Fidelity customer for 20 years and I am happy with their services.

Fidelity can do better than this. The info now showing doesn't even show their office hours. Their office picture shows more of a parked white panel van than it does the office.

How about the name and a pic of the managing director of this office (now Kyle Otdyke) as well as a list of the AE's and their extensions?

Ryan at the front desk is very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a breeze to open up an IRA account with him even without an appointment. Beautiful office too.
