I had a great experience working with Pablo and the other folks at Catalina. They made sure I understood what was going on through every step of the process and I got a great price for my payments (after shopping around between several companies). The process is long (around 3 months) but as long as you have your own documents/etc. in order, it will work out exactly as the contracts/forms describe.

I wanted to tell my story about this company. So first I wanna say thank you to Matt one of the customer service agents who spoke to me over the phone we had a great talk and he was very understanding.
Okay so this company contacted me back in June around the time I was Graduating . I didn’t know they was a sells company I was told other wise over the phone . I thought they were part of my (insurance company) because that was what they told me over the phone . So I signed papers got a cash advance mind you I’m 19 I don’t know nothing about sells company that much and I don’t know how selling money works I just know that I have a lump sum of money that is from my mothers structure settlement from a wrongful death . So I gave them my information thinking I was going to be able to get a little cash and still have money left over from my lump sum .

What they told me over the phone actually was they was part of my insurance company and they was taking over the insurance company and they even got on the phone with my insurance company and made them provide them important information I thought it was a little weird but I didn’t think much of it because I’m like FINALLY I’m getting the help I need Sadly no I wasn’t
So august come around and I decided to look them up to actually see what they was . Found out it was a sells company and I was like okay I didn’t know that I don’t wanna sell anything. So I end up texting the person that was working with me and told him I didn’t wanna go through with the court date I texted him that AUGUST 8 keep that in mind
He told me no worries he completely understands . Never cancelled the court date
I got a paper in the mail say that I had a court date with them sept the 18th . So I end up calling him again in august I told him I didn’t wanna move forward I got a job and everything I don’t think I need money anymore. He told me he was going to keep the court date on and just in case I still show up
Boom I get a call from another rep and she started being aggressive basically she was giving off you going to sell this money one way or another and I was like no I didn’t want to do it and yall wasn’t going to make me do it she was still being aggressive saying they helped me get paperwork and communicate with a attorney that wasn’t communicating with me so I remember that . Trying to scare me but whole time the only reason they was able to do that was because they lied and said they was apart of my”INSURANCE COMPANY “ so I’m like okay I’m not about to argue about this . She told me she was going to give me time to think about it and hung up
1 MONTH after that phone call I got a call from a rep saying was I prepared for the court date for tmr sept 18th I told him no because I been said I wanted to cancel the transaction and I didn’t wanna go through with it at all . He said (okay I will talk to legal) we hung up . 5 minutes later the rep call me again being OVERLY aggressive over the phone saying I said I was ( sleeping on my friends court and she went in on me . I never once said I was sleeping on my friends couch I don’t know where she got that from I said that I wanted to catch up on rent for my apartment I even sent in my bills showing that I was paying for Utilities and it had my name on it . She keep saying I was HOMELESS that’s not what I told her I said if I didn’t pay the rent I’m scared I was going to be homeless I didn’t know how I was going to eat because my food stamps was off so I was spending a lot of money and I told her I didn’t have a job at the moment.
She basically started saying all this information that I didn’t know I said at all and didn’t remember saying at all even know I know I say a lot of things but those things didn’t come out my mouth
She told me to send the cash advance back the 200 I sent it back with no problem through Zelle because I didn’t want no issues she seem like she was trying to throw legal issues into it but I’m not sure .
All I know is I’m 19 & I felt taking advantage of I was misinformed & mistreated
