Using a college counselor is something every student should at least consider as part of the application planning process. Critical to who you use is not just a question of price but also the counselor's experience, scope of understanding and experience with a range of universities throughout the US (and perhaps even overseas), support in completing all aspects of the application process including essay writing, common app., introspective review of strengths etc. for listing out achievements to help
stand out etc. etc.
