October 2024- DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS TO THE DENTIST HERE! The dental hygienist assistant I took my son to see up here SHOULDNT WORK WITH CHILDREN. If your child has anxiety, adhd, autism, or just a fear of the dentist THIS WAS THE WORST WOMAN TO DO THE JOB. My son got anxious during the X-ray portion, I was not allowed to hold his hand or even be in his line of sight and because he was nervous and moved she would fuss at him making his anxiety worse, my son is diagnosed adhd and anxiety and it was put in his forms before the appointment. She dug into his mouth with the scraper with a force that would have been aggressive for adults. He was getting nervous to with the large silicone piece they put in his mouth and she would tell him things that would invalidate his anxiety. I went to hold his hand and rub his arm to try to comfort him and she THREATEN TO KICK ME OUT OF THE ‘ROOM’ HES SEVEN AND THIS WAS BEYOND RIDICULOUS! And on top of it all she’s make comments to try to make me feel like a bad mother because he wasn’t brushing close enough to his gums (LIKE ALL KIDS DO!) over all this woman should be fired! Suspended with out pay til she gets training on how to work with kids and how to work with patients who suffer with anxiety AT THE BARE MINIMUM! I doubt they will see this but I HOPE THEY DO BECAUSE THIS WAS BEYOND MESSED UP and now my son who was nervous of the dentist but always did well is now terrified of going back to the dentist!
December 2019- went for pregnancy confirmation and was belittled about my weight being called Severly over weight and obese for a woman who is 160lbs and only 5’7 these people would probably give someone an eating disorder with the way she continually talked about my weight instead of what I came for which was a simple pregnancy confirmation so I could see an obgyn

I can't recommend the maternity department here enough. Everyone, from the nurses to the pregnancy care managers, and especially the doctors, were always kind and willing to help me with whatever issue or questions I had. They helped me through the process of becoming a widow while pregnant, and always provided me with access to resources I needed. I saw them from 12weeks pregnant until I was 30 weeks pregnant and Kristie is an amazing doctor. You can tell they are all a little overworked, but they don't let it compromise the care they give. Thank you!

Very nice new building, helpful and caring staff that are truly devoted to the well being of the folks of Caldwell County. Many programs available for those in need or just a temporary hardship or special needs case. Programs include Food Stamps, Food Bank Listings, Health Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Voucher Programs, Social Security, Disability assistants and so much more.

This is for the WIC office. We had our first appointment today. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They were also nice to my baby and that means a lot to me. I’m actually looking forward to the next in-person appointment.

I have been going to see Roger Keever for a few years now. I am willing to travel to any appointment available to see him in specific simply because he values the needs for my health and safety dearly. I appreciate all of the hard work that is provided by this facility.
Thank you all so much !

Clean easy access and no waiting lines. They can replace you with a new WIC card as you wait. My daughter n law had lost hers and thought that it would be a long, drawn-out ordeal, but it was really no problem. Be sure to take your ID, and they did ask if she knew her old pin number. They were really nice and helpful. She had been putting it off for three months. What a pleasant surprise that it was so easy. I hope that this helps someone who is dreading it like my daughter n law. Walk in and walk out with a new card within 10 minutes

I try not to be a negative person and give others the benefit of the doubt. Today wasn't the first time I felt as if I was being treated with disrespect. I have gotten food stamps because I work but my husband works part-time and goes to school. I needed to recertify us. The woman at the desk, was rude and treated me as if I was beneath her. When I asked about getting some information to my social worker, she had an attitude and acted like it was something I was already supposed to know. While I was there, a FedEx worker was dropping off a package and when he handed it to her, she rolled her eyes at him. Obviously, she is just rude and has no idea how to treat others. I work in retail and if I had treated someone like that, I would have been written up. For someone whose job is to help people, she sure doesn't know how to treat people with kindness and respect. If I really didn't need the assistance, I would never come because being treated like dirt isn't how a person of any stature should be treated.

Five years ago, I had to get some sort of shot (series of three as I recall) necessitating as many visits to the CCHD in as many weeks.
I recall there were no reading materials - best to bring one's own as the wait times will get you through an article or two.
You get the impression that the employees at McDonalds are more eager to serve than the folks behind the partitions at the CCHD - and that my well be because they are 'short staffed' as someone else has commented.
I was treated well enough when my presence was acknowledged and - best as I can recall - each shot was administered without unnecessary delay by someone as pleasant as me self.
Then again, I'm an old white guy sent there by Hospice to get a shot allowing me to serve as a Hospice volunteer - maybe they treat us better?
When I read all the reviews here on 11/19/2022, I was seriously concerned and went online to write a letter to the ADMINISTRATION (see below, way below) suggesting that "Caldwell, we have a problem" our County Commissioners need to address to see that the medical professionals we hire to staff our County Facilities are treating their patients as well or better than they would expect be treated by their own doctors.
One other point about those visits years back was their placement of the "Healthy Reminder" posters on each landing in the stairwells - but nary a one in the lobby or in the elevator!
The folks choosing to take the stairs have already gotten the healthy reminders and are acting upon them - the folks taking the down elevator need to read them again!
Here's what I wrote to the ADMINISTRATION:
I had occasion to look up an event posted on FB by the CC Health Department. I decided to look at the customer reviews and was quite impressed with the number and percentage of NEGATIVE reviews by folks in need of 'county' medical services. Most of those NEGATIVE reviews were from folks with few reviews to their 'credit' where almost all the FLATTERING reviews were from folks with several too many such reviews to their credit.
When you consider that many of the complaints were from pregnant women and others on some sort of subsidy, that they would identify themselves would indicate that they were highly offended or significantly upset with the CCHD to, as they say, 'put themselves out there.'
If these are outliers, the 'stats' online don't appear to indicate such as there would need to be a preponderance of favorable reviews were such the case. Instead, there are but a smattering of favorable reviews and most of then are simply four or five stars absent any reasonable comment detailing the wroiter's reason(s) for a five (5) star rating - suspicious in and of itself.
We are paying our taxes to these people in our health department to care for those among us who may not be so fortunate as to afford Blue Cross Blue Shield or the like. So, when these clients attend the CCHD for services we have paid for, we expect them to be treated as we would by the medical professions attending to our ills and concerns.
That a woman with a urinary tract infection is told to she cannot get an antibiotic until the doctor returns from vacation is ------------ ridiculous and literally endangers that patient's health and well being - not to mention the discomfort.
I would like to learn that our County Commissioners have received a copy of this message and to find they have gone online to read each of these reviews (as I have) so as to draw their own conclusions as to how all this tax money is being 'employed' at our Health Department.
