WORST THERAPIST EVER !!!!!!! i thought because it was the first visit that he was getting to know me and my problems but it was so dead the only thing he told me to do was write in a journal . he asked how i was doing because i just gave birth and i was telling him some of my frustrations but he was sooo dead not engaged in the conversation and not really a feed back i heard him texting on the phone and the session only lasted like 20 minutes . DO NOT RECOMMEND IT IS A WASTE OF TIME !!!!! if i would of seen the reviews before hand i wouldn't have made the appointment

I tried to forget about the time I had with Berry Bachenhimer. I did this in 2021 and it was horrible, I needed help and it made everything worse. I never found a new dr, but I need to.

One time he fell asleep while I was speaking with him, i had to ask him "hello" and he said "ohh i didn't know you were done talking".
I was also losing weight at the time and we were talking about one of his patients that lost a lot of weight.
The patient mentioned he had lose skin from losing so much weight and Berry didn't understand, so the patient pulled up his shirt and showed him.
Berry told me how disgusted he was and he had no idea why someone would get so fat that they would do that to themselves.

He never met me, but I was in the same situation and that was the last call I had with him after a few months. That experience will always be with me for the rest of my life. You trust a DR to not judge you and try to help you, and he calls you disgusting, what a great person.
He should have his license revoked.

He’s a nice guy but appears to have over-booked appointments. I also feel he may have too many clients that affect his ability to be completely dedicated to each client during a session. It appears that during each session he’s not completely involved but is already preparing for his next appointment. As with any therapist or doctor it’s who you feel most comfortable with.

I’m not one to leave reviews but I feel like if someone is looking for a counselor, reading reviews from different people, is very helpful. With that said, I wanted it to work with Barry but from the beginning I got the feeling that he didn’t care and only cared about insurance $. At my last appt (about two months ago) I thought we were finally getting somewhere when Barry suddenly changed the topic and asked me if I had any fun summer plans. Maybe he didn’t want me to be upset? Well it made me feel worse. He then said he was going away for a few weeks and I haven’t heard from him till today and it wasn’t even for another appt it was to tell me I owe him $. Thankfully I’ve found a new amazing counselor who really cares.

Do NOT waste your time!!! It became clear to us after our experience this counselor only cares about the paycheck and insurance money. Our first session, he only spoke with my husband, spent fifteen minutes taking down insurance info, which my husband could have emailed. At the end of the virtual session, he didn’t make a follow up appointment. We then tried to make another apt but he refused to offer us any time without calling us at the exact moment when he had a cancellation. We then tried again two months later. We experienced the same exact issues. He managed to charge my husbands insurance for the first apt but didn’t save our information. He then spent 15 minutes out of a 45 minute virtual apt asking for insurance info AGAIN. Which AGAIN, could have been emailed!!! At the end of our session he again refused to make us a follow up appointment. He said he was overbooked and just didn’t have the time!? Like what! SO THEN DONT TAKE ON NEW CLIENTS IF YOU CANT MAKE WEEKLY OR BIWEEKLY APTS!!! Literally used us for insurance money AGAIN!!! This has been the most unprofessional and off putting experience I have ever had. As someone who was hesitant to start couples counseling this definitely made an unforgettable impression!

During our session spent most of the time answering phone calls and stepping out to the hallway to carry conversations (on my time that I was scheduled for), he did not seem to care, and sent me a bill in the mail to collect his co-pay with no follow-up. There are definitely better therapists out there who actually care about their clients getting better, he's not the one.

Called to see if they had evening availability is all I did not even see him… he immediately answered the phone rudely. Saying “I’m in the middle of a session right now what’s ur insurance” so made me feel this is a straight to business type of deal not even a care of the real reason for therapy ESPECIALLY if I’m being answered during the middle of a patients therapy session what the hell. And I asked if he was the therapist or a receptionist and he said he’s the therapist so immediate no for me. If he sees this please don’t call me back I know I’d just be another rushed client for a check.
