This how my day started 1-13-25 ...I’ve been a long-time guest of this gym through multiple ownership changes, so I understand adjustments happen. However, Athletex canceled my membership without notice. When I visited to work out, they admitted the guest list transfer caused an issue but assured me it would be resolved. Over the next 6–8 months, while traveling for work, I called four times to follow up but never received a callback.

When I returned to Tahoe, I went in to address the situation, only to be met with unprofessionalism. Instead of answers to basic questions (Why no callback? Why was I canceled?), I was dismissed with comments like, "That's not our issue" and "What do you want me to do?" The staff even implied they had been doing me a "favor" by letting me work out before while I was trying to get this situation resolved. Ultimately, I was told the rate is now $60/month with zero acknowledgment of the poor communication or any effort to make things right.

The previous owners were warm, welcoming (great dog), and gave the gym a great community feel. Sadly, this new management seems to lack the same care. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend Athletex to anyone looking for a respectful and customer-focused gym....

Visited Athletex on a day trip up from the Sacramento area. Such a cool place. Both Rob and Ali were very gracious to give us a tour and connect with us. Numerous cool workout rooms, and a jiu jistu academy already in place, and they continue to renovate their facility, with a constant eye for improvement. Let let me know their plans as they continue to expand. We'll deifnitely be back next time we're in the area!
