I am absolutely beyond furious! My husband called it! He said they were going to wait until the very last minute to do our taxes despite me asking several months ago to have them done so we didn’t lose our insurance! It took them almost 7 months to get to our taxes claiming they were understaffed yet took vacation! They literally waited until just before the extension deadline to be up to do our taxes! Yep that’s right I called and emailed asking them to please get to my taxes ASAP because I was going to lose my insurance and they didn’t get to them until OCTOBER! So either they overloaded themselves despite being short staffed or decided they just didn’t care! They saved our taxes until dead last, and sent us a bill for almost double the previous year 960$! Despite me literally providing all the information they needed in an extremely simplistic manner! I literally wrote everything down and spelled it out for Kari yet she asked me for forms that I had already submitted she just didn’t bother to fully look through my stuff I gave her! Yet she deserves premium pay? I think not! Waiting until just before the extension deadline is up to say oh hey by the way you owe us almost double! Pay up or don’t have your taxes in on time! Sounds really professional right? Oh and I’ve asked multiple times why my family and friends haven’t been charged almost double! I also asked for a complete breakdown of charges and nothing!

We are quite disappointed with the service we received from Apel. We provided all the information, and a mistake was made. They refused to work with us to rectify their mistake, ignored our request for access to our document in their "vault", and stopped responding to emails. I'd be cautious working with this firm. It ended up costing us nearly $1000 in penalties, interest, and fees for another firm to correct the error. Proceed with caution.

Double billed me a year later. Had it paid in full and they had originally noted on my tax return it was paid. They charge for any minor thing, but what was my time worth digging up that info? Also sent irrelevant info that didn't apply to me
and always gave cute - smart alec responses without
answering my questions.

Worst accountant I 've had in 50 years! Said they no longer wanted my business, but I had moved on to someone else.

Turned our tax info in April 1st. They waited until the end of the extension tax season October to submit our taxes and almost doubled the cost despite us waiting over 6 months to have our taxes done! Last years bill was 535$ this years 960$! And nothing significant has changed! Tried to get a break down of costs with minimal reasoning given! Awful company!
