I fired my previous CFP 6 months and moved things over to Andy about six months ago because of poor performance in recent year with prior person, lack of communication of basic industry changes (e.g. new legislation changing RMD schedule), lack of foresight and proactivity - feeling that I mattered. I met Andy at a church group perhaps 2 years ago and we hit it off. He never pressured me about making him my CFP. It just evolved over time and our conversations over coffee/breakfast became more focused sometimes on this. I feel confident that Andy will provide well for my wife and I (approx age 70) as we go through a number of retirement transitions. He has integrity, really wants to understand each client and their family's needs/dreams and a good handle on emerging products to bring to the table to keep it fresh and leading edge.
