Their service may be good for an experienced individual looking to find paid consulting work by attending board meetings. You are not paid to attend and contribute at advisory board meetings as their marketing suggests. Any benefit from attending (for a monthly or annual fee to Advisory Cloud) is professional development by engaging with the company's CEO and other board members. This can be quite valuable and the ideas may spark organizing/growing your own business. While engagement in a valuable way may lead to a compensated arrangement directly with that company, obtaining a project or consulting position is based on the value of your contributions at unpaid board meetings.

Notice that all of the positive reviews are for on-boarding sessions. This service may be a scam. At best, it seems they want highly qualified professionals to give endless advice to companies for free with the vague hope that that will somehow, someday, turn into a paid position for a reputable company. When asked how using their service turned into paid gigs, the on-boarding person could not provide a single number or even any sort of range. They want $95 a month from you, YOU ARE PLAYING THEM TO WORK FOR FREE. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL, THERE SHOULD BE LABOR LAWS AGAINST IT. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY FOR ABUSING PEOPLE EAGER TO GROW THEIR CAREERS!!! I am glad within 5 minutes of the on-boarding session, I asked to cancel the trial membership.

I should have listened to my first instinct; that’s always the Holy Spirit’s warning.

At first, I was contacted via online to sign up for this company.

I am gaining experiencing in advising and consulting so the “opportunity” came at the right time.

I wasn’t ready to get on board just yet, but after another consulting session was added to my resume’, I decided to try their platform to scout out more “opportunities” for myself.

So I signed up for their “free trial”. Set up my profile. I didn’t do any onboarding because I wanted to check out the website myself.

I signed up 10/17 for a FREE TRIAL!!!

I was disappointed. There is no real value that I found for me as there isn’t even an ability to search for advisory boards/experience you qualify for. Very user unfriendly.

The worst part: I wake up around 3a to a message that I was (thankfully) avoided a CHARGE OF $2950!!!

Avoid Advisory Cloud at all costs!

poor customer experience
dishonest trial process. has failed to cancel the trial after a verbal request with their onboarding team. unsubscribe attempts from their multiple daily emails have not been honored.
further they promote paid advisory board seats but after an "onboarding" call it was evident that most "boards" are comprised of around 50 "advisors". Advisory boards typically include 5-6 members; not 50; thats just an unpaid survey.

What a great, functional service. My on boarding guide, Ric, was right on the money, clear as a bell, and super helpful, and had already picked out several appropriate boards based on my background. I was really surprised at how much pre-work he had done, and it really made the session enjoyable and exciting. I can't wait to get going with a few of these organizations, with one already in the works!
