I have seen Dr. derainey Smith at Buffalo River clinic for over two years and she yourself has done a wonderful job keeping me balanced until now. It’s been six weeks that she’s put me on a new medication after requesting a different medication. She assumed this was best so we tried it we’ve had extreme side effects. We cannot get her the doctor to call us back. Allison in the office does not return calls to often either. so I had to go by the office and tell the doctor I was in distress and I need to talk to her but the receptionist told me she was with a patient she didn’t have time to meet with you. any doctor that does not have time for their patient , isn’t meet-their needs. Alice had changed my appointment two weeks sooner to see the dr but still that dr found me not important enough to make the time too see if she could fix it . But important to her not so much! Yet she bills my insurance a 1000 for care and therapy that is not included as it shows on my insurance. She prescribes meds only! And said keep taking your meds. I can see the doctor two weeks earlier and keep taking your meds Don’t quit it. so that’s what I have done, till last night and side effects took a toll on me and I ended up in the ER after getting lightheaded and passing out which the emergency room doctor discontinue those medication‘s on spot and told me do not take another one you’re suffering from serotonin syndrome. I don’t know what I was suffering from on the medication I can just tell you I wasn’t feeling right at all and I was desperate to feel better so I try to contact my doctor, even through the ER my Dr was unreachable. whether it be a minute or five minutes that’s all it takes to make this Patient better then why not make the time. .It seems to me it would be important enough to the doctor to make it happen. But they informed me that they’re not an emergency clinic. They’re just a small mental health clinic. And if they can’t handle the load they need to discharge some patients for proper mental health They need to get more help in there because they’re not helping their patients by making them suffer. Dr Derainey should have called me back to follow up with my symptoms not tell me to suffer till she can get me in. It’s hard enough to reach out for mental health care, and when you finally do you develop a Trust in that person that they are here to do the best they can for you. If you have a doctor that makes you feel like you ain’t important, by not calling you back or your this or your that or it’s not important enough to call back. I guess it’s the decision of the doctor to determine what’s an emergency and what’s not I guess they get yo determine when to call back and why not us as patients. Mental health takes a tragic toll on a persons life, including the ability to have stable housing, employment, relationships, and family. And when that is disrupted over a dr who ain’t got any time for you, well it makes you feel very unimportant. And very low. Every Clinician should make attempt to balance the principles of medical ethics with patient needs and the legal way! Which to me means doing your patients the right way. Addiction and mental health seem to go hand in hand , some people have to self medicate to get through daily living,!others take prescribed medication to balance them out but when your meds were discontinued by an ER dr and your Dr won’t take the time to fix it for 15 days, to me I’m disappointed in their services. I wouldn’t take my kid there let alone dog. Let alone refer a person in need. She once took the time on the phone with you , anymore she ain’t got time. I promise it took her a minute to tell me what my new meds were and to follow up was to increase my misery not listen to how they were doing me, would not recommend!

I was extremely nervous coming in, but everyone here was great! The lady who checked me in was very kind, Renee was absolutely wonderful. She listened to me about medicines I've already tried, and really went in depth to help me. It was a scary process, with problems I wasn't aware how to handle, but she gave me confidence that I could be in control again. If I could rate this place higher, I would. I can't even describe how happy I am with Renee and the staff.

Update on my previous review...

So my previous review wasn't good, reason being, I wasn't in the best state of mind due to a wrong medication combination and got upset and lashed out through a review on here. That wasn't my finest hour ?. After getting my medication fixed I can see clearer and am writing this post to right the wrong I did. Good people doin what they can to help people.

Trying to get in here or have the receptionist call you back is like pulling teeth. I was referred over here. The receptionist then 4 months later called to schedule an appointment. I asked why I hadn't heard anything
4 months ago? Her response was that SHE DID but, chose not to leave a message. Then rudly asked if I needed an appointment. I said yes, she scheduled it for a Friday. I get a reminder Thurs letting me know my appointment was on Thursday. I got the reminder an hour before the appointment. My appointment still states Fri. What a freaking joke. IM GOOD HERE. The receptionist is absolutely AWFUL AND I WOULD RATHER EAT DIRT THEN ATTEND THIS CLINIC.

I've been a patient for 3+yrs. The receptionist should know how to handle phone calls without resorting to hanging up on a distressed patient, but she doesn't. The "Dr." referred me to a specialist who doesn't specialize in the testing required. Very underwhelming and worth paying out of pocket to go elsewhere.
