We have been tenants of Sonoma Marin Properties for almost 4 years now. The experience has been nothing but positive. They have been attentive, supportive, and are always quick to return phone calls, website fix requests, and even text messages, while also conveying the feel that you are renting a home, and not just a house. Repairs have always been completed with a high priority an efficiently. I would absolutely recommend looking to them as a renter looking for a home, or as a homeowner who could use the security of knowing their property is being properly maintained by professionals.

If you are interested in the type of experience that former tenants have had I recommend looking up their yelp reviews, especially those with photographs. Sometimes when I see mainly one star reviews with personal stories and general and vague five star reviews I wonder if a manager just asked friends and family to leave positive reviews to tip the stars higher. This may be a cynical take, but we considered a neighborhood property that they recently began managing and were disappointed to see it go noticeably downhill after the transition. 🙁

My family and I were renting a house for about four years, everytime we had any type of repairing problems we reported it to them but they took a lot of time or they just never sent anyone to look at the problem. We maintained the house clean and in good condition, we never hung anything on the walls and they asked for over $4 thousand for the deposit and they not just took their time “returning” my deposit but they never returned anything. I also talked to the previous renters and they didn’t get their deposit back as well. I do not recommend renting any of their property not only are they picky but they always came to the property to “inspect” without any notice. They also increased the rent every year.

As a recent SSU grad who rented through this management company for a year, I would recommend against renting any of their properties. If you do find yourself with no other option, please keep a detailed written record of every interaction you have including maintenance requests, walkthroughs, etc. As soon as I moved in my roommate's and I put in multiple maintenance requests for blinds to be fixed and construction material to be removed from the side of the house. It took months for the blinds
to be fixed and the trash stayed put until we moved out where we were charged for it's disposal. Among being charged for junk that was on the property prior to us moving in, we were charged almost $1000 to repair the garage door motor for a garage that we didn't have access to opening and closing (no remote or code). It is upsetting to feel taken advantage of no matter who you are, but as college students we felt particularly targeted and treated in a condescending manner, which I find to be completely inappropriate. I attempted to reach out numerous times once we received the remainder of the security deposite as well as the itemized list that we requested, however Eden, the receptionist directed us to email Meliza who never returned my email or my follow up. I've given up trying but wanted to put out a warning for those who do their research on which management company they are renting from. Good luck out there folks!

I have never had such a terrible experience in my life. Never received return calls. I had to make repeat phone calls. I spoke with three different people, all of whom said they would have to see what was going on with the rentals. I expressed urgency in getting a place. They I was advise not one but two of the houses we were looking at were not willing to accept co-signors. I was also advised the home owner had to approve the tenants. Being that I have rental property, I have never heard of such a thing. Talked with my property manager and she said the same thing.
Seems somewhat suspect. We contacted David Chen who has his own realty group and what a blessing. He was fast, provided text and email responses and we had the lease taken care of in less than a week. There are plenty of property management companies in the area. Avoid this one like the plague.

We are forever grateful for Sonoma Marin Property Management . Their assistance in placing us in our new rental this year, was one of our best rental experiences in over 10+ years of renting different properties in So Cal and Nor Cal. They were extremely efficient, kind, professional, and most of all had wonderful communication during the process, making this a smooth transition in the most uncertain of times. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a rental in the North Bay area. THANK YOU to Melitza and her Team!

They never answer the phone for days, just GLAD I didn't have to go through a nightmare like on these reviews. Not good service if there's always an application ahead of you. Literally wasted time and money viewing homes . 😏 OH, and another thing, why are these management companies taking a application fee if they don't even consider your application. They are not gonna run your credit. All they gonna look at is your application THAT'S IT. So I paid for nothing. How is this legal? 🤔
