Unfortunately they don’t even deserve 1 star. So I got quite a bit to say about this place. They do not help with housing, transportation, legal advocacy, or anything else that they advertise for. So I am service dog assisted and during the summer of 2024 I was living in an abandoned house. Now way to cook food, go get food (other than walk 6 miles), and no heat. During this time this shelter refused to take my service dog and I. Specifically said that they don’t allow service dogs, and since I’m not domestic violence victim I can’t stay there. So I ended up in Chena Hot Springs cause I had no where to go. On August 19 2024 my daughter attacked me as well as her boyfriend and then stole everything I had. My cloths, my food, my dog food, my bath stuff, my blankets…everything and kicked me out. I had to walk and hitchhike from Chena Hot Springs to Houston to get out of there. Once I got to Houston, the MCT and a State Trooper met up with me and got my report. Then they got me into the Grand view hotel for a few days. Eventually the staff at Day One got my service dog and I into the shelter. When I got there I was told that they could help with transportation to get my dentures, and to my hearing test. I went to one appointment with my dentist, after that things went down hill. They put me in a room with a girl that was obviously using. After being told by Palmer Navigation that since I’m a domestic abuse victim they had the power to get me bumped up the list. I took that information back to the shelter and was told by staff that they don’t provide that, they don’t know why they are on the list, and they needed to speak to their superior. This is the point where I made it clear that there is a lot of misinformation out there and this needs to get figured out cause it’s not ok to have such resources listed but yet they are not available. 2 hours later I got the call from the dentist to come in. I filled out the transportation form and went to turn it into staff, who immediately told me that they don’t provide transportation. I informed them that I was told differently. That is not what the case manager at this shelter told me! All of a sudden I’m being scolded for having a bad attitude. I immediately canceled my dentist appointment and ended up leaving for a couple of hours. I came back and took a nap then left that night at 8:30 pm, came back the next day at 10:30 am and walked into my room I shared with another lady and found meth on the desk, and pills on the floor. Just as I was putting my stuff down staff comes barging in for room checks, not one word about the meth on the desk, or pills on the floor. So I went to take a bath and came back into my room a little while later, it was still sitting there. I went into my bed and tried to take a nap, but I couldn’t relax because I felt like this was a set up. Thankfully a friend came and asked if I wanted to go for a walk around 1pm and I jumped out of bed still in my PJ’s, the moment we got in the side walk I told her what I found when I came back, told her how staff came in but didn’t say one word about the drugs on the desk. She agreed, I was being set up, so when we got back at 7:30pm that night and I found them still sitting there, I took my pictures. staff member asks me if I was ok, all I could say was I was fine, went into the quiet room and immediately started to send these pictures to my people, everyone of them agreed this was a set up and to get out of there. So a friend paid for one night at the Valley Hotel, then another picked me up in the morning and took me to Palmer Navigation where I told Kathleen and Jill everything and showed them my pics. They got a hold of staff at the shelter to make sure they were going in the room to get my stuff and bring it out to me. I wasn’t setting one foot into that place after all that. The most frustrating part…they had to go in that room to get all my stuff but no one ever said one word to me about what was sitting on the desk and on the floor. I have a 10 yr service dog, whom is my child. I would never leave pills out.

The staff here are flying monkeys and are extremely rude about me coming on the property with my son to pick up mom. I heard also that one of the staff members like to try to coherse people staying there to file paperwork against partners. Can't give negative stars, my son is still crying while I'm holding him waiting across the street for mom. WOW! SOME FAMILY SERVICE!!!

I had the WORST Best experience ever!!!!!!!!!
I went 5 weeks to a six week class was on time home work complete participating in every class had a hiccup on week six even though I called ahead and was told that graduation certificate was already printed
I was 12 minutes late and was denied access..
Then told I have to wait 6/8 weeks before I can take the class that is the same as book I read and COMPLETELY finished all home work and required reading in other words I was done with class and only needed to watch the video that I arrived in time to watch..... NOW MY DAUGHTER AND I GET TO BE PUNISHED AND SUFFER EVEN MORE EMOTIONAL TRAMA AND SEPARATION OVER BEING A COUPLE MINUTES LATE... THIS IS VERY DISHEARTENING I CAN'T BELIVE THAT THIS IS THE POLICY AND I HOPE FOR THE CHILDREN'S SAKE THEY AMENDED IT ..

Dont use this company for third party visitation. While there are physically cameras outside, they do not work. Nor do they call the police or make sure anyone is safe outside.
