Been with the Monona Wisconsin office for close to 19 years. Informed them that I was changing CPA's to a different firm. Forward 1 year and my Sorge account made a mis-stake on my 2022 tax return cost me $16k with penalties interest to the IRS in 2024 because one of their accountants use the wrong number in a place by mis-stake and literally messed up my 2023 quarterlies, said I had $24k coming back and that we where going to apply that to the next years quarterlies, little did I know that was wrong and I get stuck paying, my new accountant says I should go after Sorge CPA for the $1000 + in penalties and interest, I look at it as I made the right move to find a different firm. The only reason I started looking for a different firm to begin with is their fee's just kept increasing and increasing over the years until it seemed like they were on the payroll monthly and I realize $4000 filings fee's on top of constant large monthly fee's for taxes is ridiculous. It now cost me a quarter of the cost that it did.

We have always used a CPA to prepare our taxes. This year, we planned to move to what we thought was a local, large firm and had chosen this organization. This was a huge mistake. First, they promised if all materials were submitted by 3/18 (ours were), they guaranteed your return would be completed on time. Not only did they fail to do this, they simply filed for an extension without ever letting us know. As it was getting closer to the date taxes were due, I reached out to ask about the status. When they indicated they weren’t going to meet the 4/15 deadline and had filed for an extension on our behalf, I asked if they were going to let us know if we owed taxes so we could pay without incurring interest and penalties. The tax preparer who had been assigned to us said she’d calculate an estimate. Later that day, she came back and said we should pay over $22k and just apply any overpayment to next year. We knew this was a gross over estimate and an utter display of incompetence. We called and attempted to escalate the issue but were told they only communicate using the app. We were never able to speak with anyone other than the Reception staff. We immediately pulled our business and went back to our old CPA. We estimated our own tax, which was over $13k less than they had indicated. I did lose my $100 deposit but they had the nerve to try to charge me another $400 for this incompetence and act like they did me a favor by waiving it. Please do not ever use this organization if you care about your financial wellbeing. We are two educated professionals who learned that this place can not be trusted.

I have been a customer for years here to get my taxes done. In the past 2 years the cost has gone up over 50 %. I will not be coming back . I have been waiting over 3 weeks for simple taxes to be completed and still do not have them. They are rude when you call to see if they are done. Response is always they are waiting to be reviewed. Can not confirm when they will be done. Much of the same last year also. Gave them another chance this year shame on me. I would not recommend them to anyone.

This will be my third year using Sorge CPA for my personal and small business tax filling. I've been really happy with my past year fillings, they have gotten me a great return every year and they are very knowledgeable and respond quickly to any questions I have. They also seem very willing to educate their clients and set up meetings through the year and prior to end of the year filling. I would recommend Sorge for personal or business tax and accounting services.

NEVER EVER USE THIS SERVICE. The owner will leave passive aggressive updates on your review a year later trying to rewrite history. Even after you've proven him wrong and had a huge refund come back that year because his firm did in fact file your taxes wrong and he made you over pay.. I'm still dealing with his messes...

"The owner" will say anything to get you to pay the bill and then his assistants will email you a tax voucher and invoice from then for far more than he ever represented and claim that they didn't have the right information. BEWARE unless you like your finances handled by an automated email. Go elsewhere.

I've done my taxes with Sorge for the last 4 or so years now. I am always pleased with my return and the timeliness of when I submit my paperwork and when the money gets deposited in my bank account. It always seems like I get a lot more money than I did when doing my own taxes. They also noticed I did not claim something I could have on a previous years return and amended it for me and got me some extra money back.

I have used Sorge for years and always had a good experience until this year. I have really simple taxes and usually had them completed in 3 weeks. This year was horrible. I kept calling and got excuse after excuse. I left the preparer, Eileen, a msg asking for a response and did not ever hear from her. While I have had good luck in the past seems like the little guy isn't important!!! May have to look elsewhere.
