We went to an Asset Guard presentation this evening at Chop House in High Point. We were there for all of 5 minutes, after driving 20 mins in a downpour, the Fox talking points started. When the presenter launched into a racist tirade about immigrants. Likening them to thieves. Apparently, having an unsecured (southern) border is like letting your neighbor raid your 401K. He literally said this. I could take no more and told him to move on. His response was that we could leave. We did. We were informed on our way out that we were not entitled to the meal we ordered because we didn’t complete the presentation. Keep it. My integrity is worth more than a steak dinner.

People, do not stay silent in the face of racism and xenophobia. Do not ignore them when they spew American exceptionalism. Don’t let it go unanswered. Push back.

If you get an invitation to one of these Asset Guard presentations, be forewarned. It’s nothing but racist, xenophobic propaganda. I wouldn’t trust them with my pocket change.
