I will review, and now, when I look at my review, gives this place three stars, and they did not include my comments. I would never give this place even one star. First I have to deal with this egomaniacal guy named Joel that helped me file an appeal. In doing so he left my knees completely off of the claim, and also informed me that I could not file for my prostate cancer under the camp, Lejeune contaminated water act. He was wrong. I have now filed for it. When I came back to get help, there was a very rude lady named Danielle. That I was dealing with. They were both completely incompetent, and refused to answer my calls or give me any feedback. The last straw for me was when Danielle talked to me like I was a child. She was so rude and disrespectful. I contacted my congressman Mike Thompson of the third district. He contacted Mr. Simms who controls the office, and Mr. Simms completed my process. Joel and Danielle are not good people and should be fired.

Been trying to get seen at this office for days. They don’t take phone calls and when you go in for a walk in, it’s already full. Office opens at 9:00, got there at 9:20 and was told they were already full. Always told to come back later only to be told they still can’t see me because they’re still full.

I have been trying to gather my thoughts about the horrendous experience we had with the Veterans Service Office with a person named Danielle.
I am 75 years old and my husband is a 78 year old. He is 100% permanent and total disabled Vietnam veteran who was retired from the US military for wounds he received in Vietnam. He has a TBI and shrapnel throughput his body and can hardly walk because of
his injuries.
He has been trying to help a friend to get information about the Pact Act, as her father was exposed at Camp Lejeune and Agent Orange in Vietnam. She has a number of medical issues that we believe was from her dad’s exposures.
Danielle was who we had the appointment with. From the minute we entered her office she was unprofessional. She never introduced herself, never asked our names, and immediately told us that our friend could not file a claim, she had to be between the ages of 18-23. She was very loud and totally disrespectful. We couldn’t even talk or ask questions. She did not listen and just kept rambling on very loudly and disrespectfully. She also called a man in, no idea who he was and said my husband was aggressive, mind you, he is 78, disabled veteran with a TBI and severe mobility issues.
Never in my life have I ever been disrespected. or treated like this. We were not even there 5 minutes a left.
This woman Danielle is loud, rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and a disgrace to be working for Veterans. The Veterans and their families owe her nothing and she owes them respect and treat them with dignity.

I went to the office yesterday with a disabled veteran who is helping me file a claim and we were not there for even 5 minutes and were told we were being aggressive. We couldn’t even talk. It’s really sad that our government can not help our veterans or veteran’s children who are American citizens but are so willing to help non American citizens. It’s disgusting. Danielle is not professional at all and will not let you talk. She is not helpful at all

Everyone Here that has a problem with this office should be reporting it to the Board of Supervisors as well as to the County Administration Officer. Until the veterans and their famlies bring this issues to light, nothing will change for the Veterans of Solano County.

Just like others have said, this office is now terrible. The last time I filed here in 2022 it was such a good process. How ridiculous is it that I filed a claim a month ago and called the VA to see if it was actually filed by Danielle. Nope. Nothing as if I didn't spend almost all day at this office. The person who helped me was Danielle Hawkins, I have sent her multiple emails and have called multiple times in a span of over a MONTH. Nothing. I will be reporting them to the VA IG directly and I suggest everyone who has had a bad experience do the same.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST Danielle with your claim!!! She’s unprofessional, rude and have no idea what she’s doing. She assured us when we came in to file a claim that everything will be taken care of including her taking documents from us that are now no where to be found! Came back in the office today to follow up but she couldn’t recall our visit, had no notes of our visit, and to make things worst she had no record of the documents we physically handed to her in person (she proceeded to lie about it too) and a claim was never filed! She wasted so much of our time now we have to start from square one going through the process AGAIN!! I have now confirmed why my husband is always on edge with these people!!!! Our veterans who fought and sacrificed for this country DO NOT DESERVED THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT!!!

As a transitioning military veteran, I chose Solano County VSO as my representative upon moving to the immediate area. I provided all original paperwork to one of the full time employees, BILL ALCARES, so I can begin the long and meticulous process of filing for VA benefits. Fast forward three months - I call back to check up on the status of my packet only to find out that the employee which I had given my paperwork to had lost all original copies and had yet to even begin my claim. In fact, if I had not called or emailed, I would have never found out where I was in the process in terms of filing my VA claim. I lost three months of crtiical VA claim time as a result of gross negligence and laziness due to Bill Alcares and this office. To pour salt on my wound, as I picked up the remnants of my paperwork, Bill Alcares, nor the department director, Ted Puntillo offered any sincere apologies or regrets due to their fault in servicing my VA claim. As a veteran who has seen multiple combat deployments I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE ALL OTHER VETERANS SEEKING VA CLAIM ASSISTANCE TO STEER CLEAR OF THIS VSO!
