Worked with Jason from TaxAudit on resolving a IRS issue we had, and had a great outcome.
It seems that the IRS did not record our tax payment "on-time" so they sent this letter asking for payment with Interest. Most people would pay the amount of "$21.81" and "think" that they would be done with the issue. Since we had the TaxAudit, we decided to put it to the test. About 5 months later the issue was fully resolved (mostly waiting on the IRS).
Friends ask, "Why don't you have your checking account (linked) with the IRS?" (As suggested on the tax form). For this very reason. Another friend had made a miss-calculation on their tax form, and the IRS came and removed the funds from their checking account...without notifying them! Next thing, checks started to bounce...you get the picture. It works both ways for the IRS...a refund (deposit) or with-drawl from your checking account, it doesn't matter for them.
Even the "small" issue, TaxAudit (with Jason's great help), allowed us to clear this problem up. Thanks!

I called because my father's estate got a refund check for the 2020 tax year from the IRS in August 2024 after I had repeatedly told the IRS I had already filed and they sent me a refund in 2021. On my first call to Tax Defense I was told that someone would call me back. That never happened. I called a week later and I was asked to electronically send them the Letters Testamentary for the Estate, which I did, and they never called me back. The third time a week after that I called and was told they couldn't start a file on the Estate without an IRS letter and I needed to create an account with the IRS to get documentation that I filed, which I already had. The fourth time I called I was asked to download and send them all of the correspondence I had gotten from the IRS and was also told that I had to accept a fee because I had no coverage even though I read the account number on my Tax Audit certificate to them. I got a call back the next day telling me that I wasn't covered for tax year 2020, even though I provided the documents that I was, and they told me the best thing for me to do was call TurboTax. I called TurboTax Customer Service and within ten minutes was speaking with a CPA. Tax Audit put me through four weeks of gyrations that TurboTax took care of in minutes.
